About Sheringham Stable Door

Together we can make a difference

The Stable Door Housing Trust was formed in 1993 by two sisters, Gill and April Wilson who brought together representatives from each of the local Churches in Sheringham to fundraise to purchase the first house owned by the Trust. Continued fundraising and generosity from the local community has enabled the growth of the portfolio of houses that can be offered to those in need.

How We Work

The Stable Door is a small Housing Trust who provides accommodation to people in housing need with a connection to Sheringham. The accommodation is provided on an assured shorthold tenancy which is reviewed annually. The rents set by the trust are at an affordable level to ensure that that those most in need can afford to be accommodated. The Trust is run entirely by volunteers who manage the properties and supported tenants during their time with us. We are proud to support local contractors who carry out our response and cyclical maintenance.
